Vintage Aircraft

A specialty desk of ClearBlue Aero.

Old airplanes are not cheap 172s with patina.

Vintage Aircraft is a specialty desk of ClearBlue Aero for rag-and-tube, early metal, warbird-adjacent, and orphan types that do not belong on a modern-Cessna workflow.

What this desk is

A 1946 Swift, a Stinson 108, a Waco, or a first-generation experimental is a different file from a late Archer. Logs are incomplete. Parts are tribal knowledge. Buyers will pay for provenance and walk away from a pretty restore with a bad story. This desk exists so those airframes are screened, valued, and closed by people who have actually moved them. The engagement is with ClearBlue Aero.

Buyer Representation

Buy the Right Vintage. The First Time.

Buying an aircraft is a major investment. The challenge isn't finding airplanes for sale. It's knowing which aircraft are worth pursuing, what they are really worth, and what you may be getting into after the purchase.

Vintage Aircraft represents you, the buyer, throughout the acquisition process.

Buyer Services

What We Do

Aircraft Search

We identify aircraft that fit your mission, budget, specifications, and ownership goals.

Aircraft Evaluation

We evaluate available information, maintenance history, equipment, records, ownership history, and known issues to determine whether an aircraft deserves a closer look.

Market Value Analysis

We use current market data and aircraft-specific factors to determine what an aircraft is actually worth, not simply what the seller is asking.

Negotiation

We help negotiate purchase price and transaction terms based on the aircraft's condition, history, equipment, and market position.

Pre-Purchase Inspection

We coordinate the pre-purchase inspection and work with qualified aviation professionals to identify issues that could affect the purchase decision.

Transaction Management

From offer through closing, we help coordinate the buyer, seller, maintenance facility, escrow, title, insurance, and other parties involved in the transaction.

How an engagement works

Buy side

Confirm identity (data plate, serial, registration history) before travel; read what logs exist and say what is missing; pre-buy at a shop that will touch fabric, wood, or the actual type; ferry and insurance are not assumed.

Sell side

Exclusive listing aimed at the vintage buyer pool, on the ClearBlue inventory. Do not price it like a late 172.

If the owner is deceased, use Estate Aircraft Concierge.
